Kara Sewell is the morning anchor at WFAA, which means she’s up before 2am to start her day.
Her career has taken her from Texas to jobs in Kansas and Ohio. Before moving to Dallas in 2018, Kara spent three years at FOX 19 in Cincinnati, where she got a front row seat to the MLB All Star Game and led coverage on site at both the Republican and Democratic national conventions in the 2016 presidential campaign.
She spent six years in Wichita, Kansas where she worked as both an anchor and reporter. Her team was awarded Best Morning Newscast by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters in 2012 and 2013.
She began her career as a reporter in Odessa, Texas. That’s where she met her husband, Nick, he’s a photographer and editor. The couple has worked together since 2006.
In 2017, Kara started a YouTube channel to engage with viewers outside the news studio. She’s been a member of the Junior League for nearly a decade.
Kara lives in the Bishop Arts neighborhood with her husband and Pomeranian Bailey.
